YUMZ respects your privacy. This policy outlines how we handle information to ensure your "Taste Archive" remains secure and personal.
1. Local-First & Absolute Privacy
YUMZ is built on a strict "Local-First" philosophy. We do not collect, transmit, store, or have access to any of your personal data. We believe your food diary is your private business.
2. Data Storage & iCloud Sync
All data you generate within the Application—including food logs, photos, locations, gamification progress (stickers), and custom avatars—is stored strictly locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, your data is securely synced across your devices using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. This synchronization occurs directly between your device and your personal Apple iCloud account. We (the developers) do not host any proprietary servers and cannot view, access, or share your entries.
3. Location Data
YUMZ utilizes Apple's MapKit to help you tag restaurants and food locations. Your location data is only processed locally to generate map snapshots and location tags for your entries. We do not track your background location, nor do we collect or monetize your location history.
4. In-App Purchases
We offer a lifetime "YUMZ Pass" via Apple's StoreKit. All payment processing, receipt validation, and purchase history are securely handled by Apple. We do not collect or have access to your credit card information, billing address, or underlying financial data.
5. Third-Party Analytics and Tracking
We do not use them. YUMZ contains zero third-party tracking SDKs, no behavioral analytics, and no advertising networks. Your usage remains completely anonymous.
6. GDPR and CCPA Compliance
Because we do not collect or process any of your personal data on our servers, YUMZ inherently complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You have absolute sovereignty over your data: you can modify, export, or permanently delete all your data directly within the Application or via your iOS device settings.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we ever decide to change our Local-First architecture (which we have no intention of doing), we will update this Privacy Policy and notify you within the Application.
